Forgive me if this has been hashed out before, but I'm looking for some free- or share-ware for the Mac (IIsi, in this case) that will take input from a sonic (SAC-type) digitizer for reading sequencing gels and will preferably allow at least some rudimentary editing as it goes. While I'd rather not hack any code, I'm willing to if the source code is available for a PC. The only programs of which I'm aware of that will do this at present are the prohibitively expensive DNASTAR and MacVector.programs, and while the next version of DNA Strider *might* support it, the need is immediate. Any help appreciated. Please respond to me at the below address and I'll summarize responses. Harry Mangalam MNL-E Salk Institute (619) 453-4500, x360 Internet: mangalam@salk-sc2.sdsc.edu
