This is probably a silly question as Daresbury probably hosts DNA and protein databases in the U.K., but is their and up-to-date service of DNA and protein databases in the U.K. that can be accessed via JANET? WE have the EMBL and Genbank databases locally but they are behind the times, anybody know where is the best service? Thanks.

Fergus, Both GenBank and EMBL have on-line systems which may be queried via email from your location. Each have versions of the database that are updated on a daily basis. rather than repeat myself, I might also refer you to my earlier message to the bionet.molbio.genbank bulletin board for data with respect to your "behind the times" comment.
