The UH Gene-Server had a missing file -- if you requested "HELP" you probably got a strange error message. The file has now been replaced and the help message and top-level index will be sent in response to the line Subject: help or Subject: send index sent to gene-server@bchs.uh.edu or gene-server%bchs.uh.edu@CUNYVM from BITNET. From JANET, the following addresses should work: CBS%uk.ac.ukc::bchs.uh.edu::pir-search if you have the Coloured Book Software and otherwise: pir-search%bchs.uh.edu@uk.ac.ukc Thanks to Tony Parsons for the JANET address work. dan davison
