[bionet.software] drawing pedigrees

bullock@lincoln.ac.nz (02/11/91)

Can anyone provide a source for an IBM-compatible program for drawing
pedigrees? I've heard of some MAC versions, but what about the PC? I
don't mean a program for record keeping, but for drawing a pedigree tree
complete with squares and circles etc. We keep our records in dBase III but
we're considering switching to Paradox. Can these record files be imported
into whatever drawing programs exist?

dcurtis@crc.ac.uk (Dr. David Curtis) (02/15/91)

I have just submitted PEDRAW to the Simtel and fi.uwasa archives. I
don't know how long before it is available from there. Or I can supply
it directly . Mail me if you want more details (I posted about it very
recently).

The PEDRAW series of programs are also available, courtesy of Dr.
Curtis, on the UH Gene-Server and the EMBL File Server, as well as by
anonymous FTP from the IUBIO archives and the Gene-Server anonymous
FTP area. Send the line

        SEND DOS INDEX
and
        SEND DOS HELP

to get a listing of the file names of the PEDRAW package. The FTP
area is on menudo.uh.edu, 129.7.1.6.
