Just so you know that I have a sense of humor, when I suggested the razor blades, it was meant as an extreme suggestion and not for everyone to run out and do. I realize that there are liabilities, but after you have had your radio stolen 3+ times, you might want to try something like that. The BEST suggestion I know of is the locking cover that goes over your radio. A friend that lost three Blaupunks (Sp?) out of his VW finally bought one and is now going on 2 years without anyone touching his car. So it may be worth the ~$50. On seatbelts/airbags...I believe if a manufacturer makes seatbelts intelligently designed, everyone (almost) will use them. Of my three latest cars, my 71 Audi 100LS had very easy to put on and comfortable belts. My 80 Rabbit had the automatic seatbelts and I never objected to having them 'close' on me. When I got my 81 Honda Civic, the first thing I tried to do was to use my seatbelt religously. However, since I got the car in January, I found I was unable to close the seatbelt over myself wearing a down parka. Maybe the Japanese don't wear down parkas? In any case, I have broken the habit and only on long trips make the effort to put them on and almost never in winter (when they'd do some good). Mickey Levine decvax!cca!mickey
