Tao Tao asks about PIR sequence retrieval: As of 1 Dec 1990, you can get info on how to do this by sending the 1-line e-mail message: HELP On-Line_Access to the address: fileserv@gunbrf.bitnet (The '.bitnet' suffix is required for Internet->Bitnet e-mail) You may also include the e-mail message lines: HELP SEARCH BASES for other help. As I read it, this PIR access is NOT free ... Back in Nov. 1989, Amos Bairoch indicated (INFO-GCG list) that the SwissProt entries DR line(s) cross-reference SwissProt to PIR & EMBL (when applicable). This is sort of a backwards way to find the PIR=EMBL #s, but might help. More info on request (net bandwidth, you know 8-). Hope it helps, Tom Easton > Dear netters, > > I need help on protein sequence retrieval. What I have are the accession no s > from FASTA output, which gives accession no.s in PIR database.
