I'm currently driving a 1979 Mazda GLC (which is rear wheel drive), and it feels real sloppy on the road. It wobbles over bumps, and leans badly on turns. It has about 41,000 miles on the original shocks and struts (at least, I *think* it has struts up front...). Is it likely that they all need to be replaced? How long do stock Japanese shocks last? Maybe the car is just a dud... (On the other hand, maybe I'm too used to my Triumph, which handles like a go-cart...) I'm also planning on getting an anti-sway bar for the rear, since that did wonders for a Corolla I used to drive-- flattened it right out on curves. But I want to be sure the rest of the suspension is up to snuff on the Mazda before I do that. Paul Fox, ABI Holmdel, NJ (201)834-2064 days ihnp4!hou5f!pgf

The lifespans of most OEM parts on cars is just a little longer than the warranty period. As an owner of 3 Mazdas I can guarantee you that you need new shocks. Joseph L. Wood, III ABI Holmdel (201) 834-3759 ariel!jlw
