Does anyone know of any good books for middle school and high school students wanting to learn the basics of computer science? I am about to start tutoring a 13-year-old home-schooled kid in computer programming/science. He has already done quite a bit of hacking around on his PC, so I'd like suggestions about books/curricula aimed at a level higher than the "Hello world" type of stuff. Maybe some simple algorithms, data structures, etc. Any help would be greatly appreciated. I will post a summary of any info. Thanks. -- -Layne Ainsworth lains@world.std.com <or> | It is impossible to prepare simultanteously for war ...!uunet!world!lains | and peace and still have time for golf. -Anon.
