The Chemistry Department at Miami University maintains a chemical storeroom for the university as a whole. At present inventory control is accomplished with a batch data entry system to a database maintained by SAS. I wrote this dog about 10 years ago. Soon the department will decide to revamp this system. I would be very interested to here what other Universities are doing in the area of automation of chemical storerooms. There is a lot of manual labor involved that I feel could be automated. I woul also like for professor's to be able to querry the inventory for availability, and if possible, request chemicals electronically from their offices. I would like to reduce labor on order entry and receiveing. If anyone can think of another newsgroup to post this querry to please let me know. Thanks. Joe Simpson
