I'll be able to give the net a first hand review of the new Corvette in 10 weeks. I just ordered one in Illinois. I am interested in the availability of the new vette' in other parts of the country. I have heard that in California people are paying high bucks to own one. I have several publications that go in great detail of the design and construction of the new vette'. It appears to me to be another lesson in project design lead by only two people with total control. Too bad us software types can't learn from the auto manufacturers! Pat Fargo BTL -IH (ih1ap!fargo)

I own an '84 Corvette, and have just been through the recall. The reason for the recall was bad bolts on both the air pump and the front brake calipers. GM provided new bolts for both of those. The recall instructions said to remove the front brake caliper bolts, add lock-tite, and tighten the new ones to 65 lbs. torque. The bolts on the rear were not supposed to need replacing, just remove, add lock-tite, and tighten to 65 lbs. Well, three of the rear bolts on my car broke before reaching 65 lbs. It took three weeks to get the new bolts from the factory. If there are any other '84 Corvette owners out there, I suggest you make sure your dealer has BOTH front AND rear bolts in stock before starting the recall work. Rick
