[alt.activism] old medical textbooks for Romania

jack@cs.glasgow.ac.uk (Jack Campin) (07/19/90)

Romania's medical care system is in a mess. A number of Western charities
are assisting with items like drugs, dressings and instruments; one area
that nobody is yet doing much about is information. Romanian medical staff
are asking for medical textbooks; these don't have to be the latest
editions - they suggest that when you upgrade standard references to the
latest edition, you send them the immediately superseded one. English-
language stuff is fine; French or German would do too.

They are being collected by a group based in Edinburgh, who have the
transport to get them to medical personnel in Romania. Send them to: Sally
Wood, Edinburgh University Library, George Square, Edinburgh, Scotland.
(She doesn't know I'm posting this; my contact with the group is via their
truckdriver).

It would be useful if someone could act as a collection point in North
America. Any volunteers?
