		==> WORLD GAME - GLOBAL NET <==

I am looking for people and groups to participate in an on-line
role-playing simulation based on the World Game invented by
Buckminster Fuller. This request is for people to participate in a
very small-scale version of what is eventually to be a much larger
project. The smale-scale version is to be a test-bed for methods and
ideas to be used in the larger project.

World Game - Global Net is a project whose principal goals are to
establish an international forum for global problem solving and to put
Global Communications in a positive, exciting and attractive context.

The target audience are people and groups who are looking for ways to
increase their effectiveness and have a real impact on a global scale.
To do this, they all need to be able to communicate with each other.

The full-scale event will be a simulation of global policy
negotiation with people in several countries involved simultaneously
and communicating with each other using a variety of electronic media
such as:

=>	Computer-aided conferencing
=>	Electronic mail
=>	Fax machines
=>	Telephones
=>	Real-time video links

The test-bed version will probably be limited to computer
conferencingand e-mail, fax machines and telephones are also
possible.

World Game was invented by Buckminster Fuller over 20 years ago as a
creative alternative to wargames and involves a large number of people
(at least 100) taking on the roles of different national and regional
groups and negotiating with each other to improve their situation. The
World Game Workshop provides a methodology for cooperative problem
solving in an environment filled with conflict. Over 24,000 people
have participated in face-to-face World Game workshops.

This is a great opportunity for social and business networking; an
opportunity to electronically meet people from around the world and
work together to solve problems. That sort of shared experience is one
of the fastest and best ways to meet and understand people.

This test-bed version of World Game -Global Net would involve a few
individuals and groups who are committed to increasing people's
participation in the communications networks and who are involved with
and concerned about global issues - you can be a non-profit, a regular
business, a social-action group or simply a concerned individual who
wants to help connect people together. If you have ever played games
like Risk or Diplomacy here is a chance to participate in a game where
the winning strategies will benefit people in a very real and
important way.

If you are interested in participating in this test-bed bversion and
would be willing to commit to a 2 or 3 afternoons of planning and one
long afternoon for the actual on-line event please contact me. I
would like to do the test-bed as soon as I have enough sites. I would
especially like to have at least one sit outside of the USA.

Right now it looks like late August would be the most likely time for
the test-bed to take place.
