Independent Communications Associates, or InCA, has begun production of a
one hour program on nanotechnology. The following is from an InCA release:

InCA Begins Production on "Nanotechnology" Program for U.K. Channel 4

Two weeks ago, Britain's prestigious public-service Channel Four Television
commissioned this company to produce a major new documentary program on
"nanotechnology" - broadspectrum molecular engineering which has the
potential to transform many aspects of society.

First we hope to introduce the audience to some of the more recent
significant developments in the disciplines of electrical engineering,
molecular chemistry, biotechnology, information science and related fields.

We will also invite Eric Drexler to explain the basic concepts of
"nanotechnology," as outlined in his book, Engines of Creation. Other
individuals and groups working on nanotechnology ideas will also be invited
to comment and participate.

We will be conducting brief interviews, watching groups at work,
demonstrating prototype equipment, and reviewing state of the art computer
graphics which will help explain the significance of recent breakthroughs
in what we can see, understand and manipulate at the micro or "nano" level.

Finally, we will create brief scenarios for the future which will suggest
some of the societal impact of nanotechnology if and when it comes to
fruition. In the United States, this one-hour special will probably be
seen on PBS as one of the NOVA series from WGBH, Boston. In any event, the
program will be taped in June for completion in August and transmission on
Britain's Channel 4 in early September.
