Here's the nanotechnology reference list that I mentioned in an
earlier posting. It is somewhat annotated. Since my backgound is
in CS, there are little or no papers that get into the nitty-gritty
chemistry/biology details.
I think that one of the better uses of sci.nanotech would be to
consolidate appropriate references so that new (and old) nanotechnology
reseach could be identified. Since nobody has gone to the trouble
of building a basic naotechnology reference list, I thought I'd start.
I encourage others reading this list to add to it and and make any
additions available to other readers of sci.nanotech. One of the
problems I see in the field of nanotechnology is the lack of organized
information distribution. Many people in this field stress the use of
knowledge (e.g., the use of hypertext and the like) yet there is very
little done in the form of getting availble information out to people.
The Foresight Institute should be at the forefront but they are not.
They have very few publications and don't even produce a basic reference
list for nanotechnology. Very little is said (or produced in the form of
proceedings) about nanotechnology meetings/symposia/conferences. I
think more needs to be done in this area.
But, it would be foolish to put this all at the feet of the people at
FI. Sci.nanotech has the potential to be a very valuable resource
if more people would post informative articles.
