Hello, I saw on tv a while ago that the National Hot Rod Association has banned electronic (clutch) timers. No electrical based computation. No on-board batteries. They use air pressure to work the timers. I didn't bother understanding how those work since I was busy with the following. Do you think Drexler could construct a timer from rods (or such) powered from chemical synthesis/reactions (proteins or gas) ? talk about hot rods :) I don't want to start anything, but you'd have to be careful of dragu when designing such a timer. "Dragu," the NHRA version of graygoo. -Myron // mdeale@cosmos.acs.calpoly.edu [You mean, for the Streptococcus Open? Interestingly enough, Eric is looking at timer-like devices at the rod-logic level because of a minor "bug" I pointed out in the assembler design. --JoSH]
