[sci.nanotech] Tomorrow's World

loki@relay.eu.net (Never Kid A Kidder) (02/14/90)

The BBC popular science program `Tomorrow's World' ran a feature on
nanotechnology last night. It was on their theme of technology in
2020, and featured current miniature mechanical devices, and projected
molecular ones. That's the first time I've ever heard it mentioned
outside the net. What is the current position on nanotechnology WRT
public awareness? Are the books `popular' books? Has there been much
media coverage in the US, or anywhere else for that matter?

[For the science-oriented, yes; nanotech has been mentioned in
Scientific American, Science News, the science columns of various
magazines (particularly science-fiction ones), etc. It hasn't
shown up much in the general media, however.]
