I just bought a Road and Track magazine that did a 84 Corvette to : Ferrrari 308GTB Qualtrovalvole Porsche 928S Porsche 944 Performance tests. I think this performance chart shows the results of excellent design work by Chevrolet's McLellan design team. This car had requirements to be competitive with the leading sports cars. I think they met their goal and have achieved a truely well engineered product. A couple of added comments. In Bowling Green, KY, they have the SLOWEST production line in the world producing only 15 corvettes and hour. They also allow employees to drive one home during the week. The following morning, management meets with these employees and reviews their likes and dislikes about the product they build. This appears to be an excellent way of inducing pride in the product they build and increase the overall quality of the Corvette. More to come! Patrick A.
