We are looking for SOAR and CLIPS for our research project. Can somebody let us know how to obtain them. Hopefully they are free or at minimal cost for educational purpose. Thanks a lot. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Man L. Li (manli@cs.uh.edu) Dept. of Computer Science University of Houston

Broad St Athens, GA 30602 (404)-542-3265 The last information that I have indicates that CLIPS is free to Govenment Agencies and is available to others for a fee. I'm not sure how accurate this information is, as it is approx. 1 year old, so contact them to be sure. (I work for the Government, so we were able to get the free copy:-) Duane L. CLIPS, the shell developed by NASA, is distributed and supported by COSMIC. The address and phone number are: University of Georgia 382 East Broad Street Athens GA 30602 Phone: 404-542-3265 / Telex: 490-999-1619 The fee for a commercial company is around $200. I don't know about educational discounts.

>CLIPS:
I normally don't read the ai groups, but I follow them for a couple
dozen postings then 'u'.
COSMIC isn't on the net, but one of their employees is. You can send email
to him: Al Lester : alester@uga.bitnet (assuming you have a mailer which
understands domains). COSMIC needs to get a demand. But they can't
just mail or use anonymous FTP due to technology trade restrictions placed
on it (and I am afraid AI shells is one of those technologies).
CLIPS is relatively cheap: $200 on an IBM PC disk, documenattion is $54.
Written in C. I can OCR the description if you want it.
Another gross generalization from
