A recent posting of mine generated so much mail that I decided to post information here regarding CLIPS, the portable expert system shell written in C at NASA. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- CLIPS ----- CLIPS stands for the 'C Language Integrated Production System'. It is a portable expert system shell developed at NASA Johnson. CLIPS has been run on DOS machines, VMS machines as well as UNIX machines by me as well as others. A forward chaining system, CLIPS is distributed by COSMIC for NASA. More information on this shell can be obtained by calling (713)-280-2233. Further, a book on expert systems as well as on CLIPS has been published recently. The name of the book is : EXPERT SYSTEMS : PRINCIPLES AND PROGRAMMING by J. Giarratano & G. Riley (PWS Kent Publishing, who have an 800 number). Please call the CLIPS help desk for further information on CLIPS as well as NETS (a Neural Network package).
