[net.auto] You know what happened to the other fellow with that name ...

Chris Custer, father of the ROTUS 7 -- a Lotus 7 update --
searched the phone books (and presumably his conscience)
for the right man. And finally he found him. The result:
A special-edition Rotus 7 called the John Prayer Special.
	Toyota-engined, needless to say.

When I was at Summit Point, W.Va., raceway in May I had an opportunity
to see a ROTUS 7 in tha paddock area shown off by C. R. Custer. The car,
which was number 2 and really beautifully finished, does indeed have
Toyota drivetrain, suspension, and brake components. Custer claimed
that they were going to get around the rules for new cars by using
an engine and transmission which has been available from Toyota since
1972. Then they give you a car with only minor finishing work
required and call it a kit car. Therefore you can claim that it's a '72
and get away with murder. I have this guy's card here. It goes:

	ROTUS LTD 7

	Christopher R. Custer

	7315 Parkview Drive
	Fredrick, Md. 21701
	(301) 293-1777

Prices that he was quoting were in the $11K range, complete, which is not
bad. He also claimed that his company had fixed some of the worst
problems of the Lotus 7 frame. They were kind of fragile.
