Los Angeles (LA) Association for Computing Machinery (ACM) Technical Activity Committee on Artificial Intelligence (TACART) TACART TOPIC: The Integrated Reasoning Shell (TIRS) SPEAKER: Koenraad Lecot, IBM professional Services, Costa Mesa DATE: Wednesday, 20 February, 1991. TIME: The talk will begin promptly at 7:30 p.m. There may be a few minutes of TACART business beforehand. ABSTRACT: IBM's TIRS is a multi-featured expert system shell. It runs under OS/2, AIX, MVS, and VM on a variety of platforms. The system, various components, and the development environment will be described. Knowledge Master, an expert helpdesk developed for MasterCard, will serve as the focus for discussion of application design, interface construction, and database integration. The talk will include a demonstration on a PS/2. BIOGRAPHY: Koenraad Lecot is currently an expert systems consultant with the Knowledge-Based Application Solutions (KBAS) branch of IBM Professional Services, in Costa Mesa, CA. At IBM he has acted as project manager and/or knowledge engineer on a number of expert system projects, and has designed and conducted expert system courses for customers. His previous job was Vice President and Senior Technical Consultant with Security Pacific, where his last project was a very successful fraud prevention system. He has published numerous articles on expert systems and AI, and is frequently invited to speak on the use of expert systems in banking.
