The Electronic Frontier Foundation is looking for a person who is: a) knowledgeable about Macs and Unix machines b) able to keep to a fixed schedule (10 to 20 hours a week, we estimate) c) willing to do clerical work d) interested in EFF issues, such as computer civil liberties and public education about computer-based communication. This is a perfect job for a student who has irregular hours, but who would like to earn a extra money working for a fun organization. We are close to the Lechmere stop on the Green line, and to the Kendall Square stop on the Red. Dress is casual, although you are free to dress better than we do. Compensation: 5-7 dollars an hour, depending on experience, plus an account on an Internet machine. Job would include updating a mailing list, general filing, phone answering, brainstorming, tinkering with computers, and other clerical work. Interest in law or public policy is a plus.
