The FCC has assigned 10.525 GHz and 24.15 GHz for police radar use and for microwave door openers and burglar alarms. Most radar detectors are designed to receive only those frequencies. I remember reading somewhere (Microwave Journal?) that the FCC had assigned an S-band frequency 2.5 GHz for " Traffic Control Radar" as opposed to "Police Radar". Trafffic control radar is supposed to encompase communication links between traffic inter- sections as well as vehicle monitoring equipment. It is possible that you were clocked by a device in that band which would probably not set off your radar detector.
