I expect to have the next draft of the proposed V5 protocol spec ready (with the help of the other authors) by the end of October. In planning the MIT implementation of V5, we are considering farming out some of the coding (in a similar fashion to the X11 original coding effort). We are currently looking at the late December/January time frame. If any of you would be willing to assist, please send me e-mail (be sure not to cc: the entire list).
