I am having some trouble bringing up kerberos on our Solbourne 5E-902, running OS/SMP 4.0. The make and make install go as I expect, but when I start to test the server ... kbd_init lets me create the master database. kdb_edit lets me add my username but .kerberos & comes back with ./kerberos: udp/kerberos unknown service after which kinit can't get a ticket-granting ticket kinit: Can't send request (send_to_kdc) I guess I have missed some stage in the installation, but a couple of hours RTFMing haven't shown me what. Can anyone say what I have done that I shouldn't have, or what I have failed to do? Has any other site installed kerberos on a 5E-902? -- Alan M Stanier | tel +44 206-872153 | Carpocratian Heretic and alan@essex.ac.uk | fax +44 206-860585 | Oral Gratification Specialist

See section 1.9 (Protypes Files) of the Kerberos Installation Guide. -- Jon
