Hi,
I was wondering if there were an athena replacement for rdist, the
problem being that rdist is used here for LOTS of things and I can see
it all going horribly wrong when we move totally to kerberos (i.e.
rsh'ing as root).
Steve.

we don't use the rdist philosophy to distribute files (i.e, the "push" from a central location to all the clients). instead, we use a tool called "track" which uses the "pull" philosophy to update clients (i.e., clients have to specifically request an update). if this sounds interesting i can tell you more, but this forum probably isn't the right place ... -- henry --------
