At the Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas there are lots of interesting new laptops being displayed, but the one that I thought was the most attractive display & keyboard was from Psion. It was the standard 25x80 cell display (black on *white*, no less), had a reasonable full-size keyboard, and also felt about 5.5 pounds. Has anyone else seen this unit? Any impressions on Psion as a company? -- Dave Taylor Intuitive Systems Mountain View, California taylor@limbo.intuitive.com or {uunet!}{decwrl, apple}!limbo!taylor

Well, I've liked their previous products very much. I use their LZ64
pocket computer ALL the time (I have a Tandy 100 and an Atari Portfolio
as well but somehow spend more time using the LZ64).
Building VERY tough (HP might be tougher.....maybe)
A design where you can use it one handed.
The display is always visible.
Particuarly polished Appointment maker, etc.
Built-in short power backup so changing batteries doesn't clear memory.
Calculator is nice to program (but pretty bad otherwise)
Abilty to search for stuff in the machine easily.
Nice audible alarm.
^^^^^^^
Like many British computers you have to take it on its own terms (e.g.
the language is sort-of BASIC....but not quite), it isn't as pretty as many
(sort of an Army Green) but I've found it horribly useful despite the rather
horrid keyboard (As a portable terminal it's almost unusueable).
