[Line eater? What line ea Hi! I've got an IBM Convertable and non-backlit screen. I'd like to make a couple of modifications to the machine, and I would like suggestions on the best way to do them. 1] My screen does not have an anti-glare coating of any type. I'd really really like one. I have a spray that I use in my artwork which would add a thin fog-like layer to the surface, which works well enough in tests on clear plastic, but this is not an ideal solution - durability problems should be obvious, if nothing else, and once it breaks down, re-spraying would NOT be an option. I'd like any suggestions here - particularly ones that do not cause a lot of light loss. 2] My screen is also not backlit. I would really like some sort of attachable, portable light source - battery powered, of course, or even capable of being run from the internal power supply. Any suggestions? I have not been able to find a backlit display for sale anywhere except IBM Direct, who wants $367 US for it - and I don't have that kind of cash free for this project! I'm not afraid of the soldering iron or playing around with chips - I've repaired several computers before. (Also small radio systems, commerical radio equipment - tube-based reel-to-reel systems are _not_ my friend! - and similar electronic devices) so any hacking suggestions would be just fine with me.
