I have a Toshiba T1200F. I would like to get a 10 or 20 MB hard disk (and maybe some extra memory) for it. The problem is that the Toshiba upgrades are rather pricey. A hard disk for instance is about $900. This is well over half the cost of a new machine. Are there any less expensive third party upgrade kits available out there? -- Jose Oglesby oglesby@multiflow.com Multiflow Computer or oglesby@mfci.uucp 31 Business Park Drive or ...!uunet!mfci!oglesby Branford CT 06405 (203)-488-6090

I have the following comment: As I watched my vintage 1200 (with their 20MB drive) roll down the escalator, rather than panic, I contemplated the value of their extended warranty. As it turned out, the disk survived, but the transformer on my plug-in modem (not Toshiba's) tore off the board proving that it took some pounding. -- Dale Chayes Lamont-Doherty Geological Observatory of Columbia University Route 9W, Palisades, N.Y. 10964 dale@lamont.ldgo.columbia.edu voice: (914) 359-2900 extension 434 fax: (914) 359-6817
