[comp.sys.laptops] HD for T1200

oglesby@m3.multiflow.COM (Jose Oglesby) (02/02/90)

I have a Toshiba T1200F. I would like to get a 10 or 20 MB hard disk
(and maybe some extra memory) for it. The problem is that the Toshiba
upgrades are rather pricey. A hard disk for instance is about $900.
This is well over half the cost of a new machine. Are there any
less expensive third party upgrade kits available out there?

And then wonders about the $900 that Tohsiba wants for their
hard disk upgrade.

I have the following comment:

As I watched my vintage 1200 (with their 20MB drive) roll down the
escalator, rather than panic, I contemplated the value of their
extended warranty. As it turned out, the disk survived, but the
transformer on my plug-in modem (not Toshiba's) tore off the board
proving that it took some pounding.
