Two questions: 1. Those of you who have a Toshiba 1200H (harddisk but no backlighting). How long is your battery life under what conditions? I currently have a 1200F (2 floppies) because battery life for my applications is very important. However, I am going to need a harddisk for the next stage of my research, so would like to add one and would like to know what others have gotten performance wise. 2. Does anyone know if it is possible to upgrade the 1200F to 1.44 Meg floppies from 720? I figure that this would require a new controler, and wonder if any 3rd parties are considering this. (Are you listening Axonix??) Thanks. Mark Ritchie markxx@garnet.berkeley.edu

1. I generally run my T1200H with the hard disk constantly powered up. I rarely use the floppy. I "always" run in high-speed mode. I have no extra memory board or built-in modem. I find that I get approximately the 2 hours that Battery Watch says my usage should get. I have a second battery pack that I carry with me. I almost never run out of power on *both* batteries. 2. The floppy controller in the T1200 machines is not capable of driving the 1.44MB floppy. I asked the same question on Compuserve a year ago. -- Ron Heiby, heiby@chg.mcd.mot.com Moderator: comp.newprod "She fell there." "A victim of Newton's Law, eh?"
