The latest issue (I bought it yesterday) of PC Magazine is devoted to laptops. They provide summaries and comparisons of 30 386/386SX machines, 30 or so 268 machines and a handful of 86 machines. They also give a brief mention to the Macintosh Portable. Among their recommendation in the 386/386SX category were Dell 316LT IBM PS/2 Model P70 Toshiba 3100SX Toshiba 5200 Dolch (mumble) 25 (not the 20 mHz version) plus one or two others that I may have forgotten (The above model numbers are approximate; this is being posted from memory). NOT included in their "Editor's Choice" list was the Zenith SuperSport SX (I don't remember why they didn't recommend it). If you are thinking about getting a laptop in the near future, this issue may be a good reference source for you. By the way, they conclude that "the next computer that you purchase will be a laptop" (or some such phrasing to that effect). Please pardon any inaccuracies in this note; my senility is showing. Cheers, danm Disclaimer: I have no affiliation with PC Magazine, although I am affiliated with the manufacturer of one of the recommended machines. However, I do not purport to express the views of either my employers or my educators.
