I'd like to find a sturdy portable PC-compatible to use with an IEEE 488/ GPIB board. It doesn't have to be battery-powered or small. Something like the vintage Compaq would be great, but nobody seems to make that style anymore. Cheap is also important...under $2000 preferably. Few of the laptops seem to have real PC slots without attaching some sort of expansion chassis. There is a big transportable 286 machine made by Best Computer that might do, though it appears to be solid plastic. I'd appreciate any ideas or opinions about machines that might work. Thanks, Don Rice FNDDR@ALASKA.bitnet and as listed above...
