The best source for street prices is a Tuesday New York Times. Any Tuesday will do. Recent advertised prices for the T1000SE were in the $1050 to $1150 range. Read the fine print. Many places have an 800 number for more info. Paying with credit cards offers you more protection and faster receipt than paying with a personal check.

Product was on my doorstep in three days, with no problems. Locally (Greater Boston area) the best price I could find was $1350, with a premium added on if using credit card. This was a month ago, when supply was limited. Whether that's still the case or not, I don't know. Much to my chagrin, when I lived in Chicago, the Tuesday New York Times had no science supplement, which is a source of a lot of fascinating information, including sources for inexpensive PC hardware and software.
