According to the Z88 Developer's Notes, there exist EPROM cartridges for the Z88 that have Zero Insertion Force (ZIF) sockets on them so that you can just pop in 27256 or other EPROMs... SHARPs hasn't heard of them (actually, they claim "it is impossible, the EPROMs are surface mounted" which is, of course, *not* the point) Have you? Do they exist in England perhaps? They might not even be that hard to make if you're any good at etching. They'd be very useful (eg for hot-patching IBM PC BIOS ROMS :-) and bulk EPROMs are cheaper and easier to store anyway... If you haven't heard of these but would be interested in them if I can find them, let me know (if I get a *big* flood of responses, I might just try making them :-) I'll post summaries of email, of course. In fact, they were suggested for use with the Z88 Developer's system for the PC... did that ever materialize? Mark Eichin <eichin@mit.edu> ps. If anyone has tried Z-Tape or anything like it, please send me comments on that too, I'm thinking of getting it [to use with a microcassette recorder, of course :-) ] _Mark_
