My apologies in case this has been discussed on this group before, but... I want to buy one of the small "ultralight" laptops that have come out recently. Since I'll use it mainly for terminal emulation and maybe some word processing, CPU power is not critical, but a full-size screen and keyboard is. For weight, price and battery life reasons I'd rather go with a single FDD & RAMdisk combination than a hard disk. Also, a terminal emulator in ROM would be a plus. So far I've found the Toshiba 1000SE and the Zenith MiniSport as likely candidates. How do those compare with each other? Did anybody have particularly good/bad experiences with them? Any other machines in this category that I missed? Any good mail order deals? Another important point is the modem: does anybody sell an internal 9600+ baud modem that is small enough to fit into these ultralights? -- Nici Schraudolph, C-014 nschraudolph@ucsd.edu University of California, San Diego nschraudolph@ucsd.bitnet La Jolla, CA 92093 ...!ucsd!nschraudolph
