More questions on compaq LTE/286. I often run off AC adaptor, with the battery removed while at my desk. Usually I'm not accessing the hard drive, since I'm using it as a remote terminal. I'd like to spin down the harddrive in such situations. ( I like real quite operations and might as well save some wear on the drive). Unfortuanelty, the pwrcon utility compaq provides detects that I'm running off of AC and won't spin down the harddrive. Anyone know what code to execute or how to twiddle the lowlevel hardware to turn off the disk drive (and screen while we're at it)? It would be nice to be able to disable the AC check so that the standby button works like it does when running on batteries, as well. Thanks again, peter collins ..arizona!catuc!peter
