From article <56612@bbn.BBN.COM>, by sher@bbn.com (Lawrence D. Sher): > From p. 128 of the May 21, 1990, issue of Computerworld (verbatim): > > Toshiba admits disk woes > > Users of some Toshiba T1000SE notebook personal computers face a potential disk > drive cable failure, according to Toshiba America Information Systems, Inc. > The cable is easily fixed and poses no danger to the user, according to the > company. Customers can call 800-999-4273 to find out if they are affected. > ---------------------- > Does anyone know more about this problem? I read about this on the Toshiba BBS - some mechanical part in the disk drive is rubbing against the floppy drive cabling. With sufficient time, the cable insulation will wear away. Supposedly the fix takes 5 minutes. (The toshiba BBS phone # is 714-837-4408.) a.schnable@att.com
