I have read the PC Mag article on Portables and have made extensive inquiries based on the information I found. It should be noted that PC Mag did do itself proud with this issue. However, after you read the whole thing and try to digest the meat of it, you will find (as I did) that many of the machines they are showcasing are no more and many better machines are now on the market. One such machine that was not listed because it was not available at the time is the Zeos 386sx Portable. In a later issue I saw an add for this machine and I couldn't believe the P vs P. I immediately ordered the machine (around the 1st of June) and was told that delivery would be around the end of June. Since this is now the 2nd of July and my long awaited machine haden't arrived, I called the Zeos Company to get a status report. Not surprisingly. The delivery was delayed till the beginning of October. This was too much for me. I expressed my displeasure and the salesman told me that since they could not meet the shipment they were prepared to compensate me in one of several ways. 1. Give me credit for the same purchase price on any other machine they sell, or 2. Give me a gift certificate for $200 toward the purchase of any addition Zeos product, or 3. Sell the updated version of the machine to me for the same price. UPDATED? Yes, the first machine isn't even out of the box yet and there is already a new one hitting the bricks. Differences? Backlit Supertwist LCD VGA display vice Gas Plasma. Battery operation. (1.5 hours) One expansion slot instead of two. This wone can be delivered at the end of August. Okay! I bit on it. I'll let you know if there is any problem with the latest delivery deadline. -- vax4/usr2/teach MS# 239-D Ph: x5908 ------------------------------------------------------------------------- Dick Beier . . . aka: Dicky-Poo . . . that's Mr. Poo to my enemies.
