[comp.sys.laptops] MS-DOS with the T1000XE

I notice that the Toshiba flavour of MS-DOS 3.3 that came with my T1000XE is
missing a lot of the external commands. The manual has them all, but they're
not all on the ROM disk, and I didn't get any other disks or anything with it.
Was I supposed to get more? Where do I (legally) get the rest of my MS-DOS?

When I bought my T100XE, I also got 3 3.5" disks. One of these was an
MS-DOS disk that had all of the external programs. You might want to
check with the dealer who sold you the system if you didn't get any
disks....

The T1000XE comes with the most-used MS-DOS commands in ROM. The rest
of them come on a disk which is packaged with the computer. I simply
created a directory on the hard disk, copied the remaining MS-DOS files
into it, then put it in my path.

If you didn't get MS-DOS 3.3 on disk with your machine (it comes on
two 720K floppies), then you should probably call Toshiba.

Yes, some of the external commands are not in ROM, and are on disk.
When I got my T1000SE, it came with MS-DOS manuals and disks. (The
MS-DOS disks and manuals had been OEM'd though by Toshiba.) I also got
MultiSoft's PC PowerPak with the computer. I would guess that you
should have received that too.
