On a pretty new Amtrad PPC640 , I have started having some problems... the b drive gave me a seek error message, and now on every bootup, the b-drive does not get recognized.....I have tried different startup disks. Also, when the machine spins the b drive to check if it is there.... the light does in fac t come on... although for much longer than for the a drive (both with no disks in them), but still refuses to acknowledge its presence. And now, the screen at bootup says 'please wait....' while it does it diagnostics.... but after that only displays a blinking cursor, although you can tell it has loaded dos.... and the keyboard is willing to accept commands, the screen will print nothing.\ Has anyone had similiar problems? It is still under warranty, but was wondering if there might be a quick fix, and finally just what my possible turnaround time is til I might get one back, as I have become quite dependant on it for at home work reasons.
