Has anyone heard any more news about when it is to be released in Europe ? Perhaps it is possible to buy it in Sweden today ? Standard disclaimer: "Only my personal opinion, of course."

Is the Toshiba SPARC LT is a laptop or a transportable? I've read the new version has a electroluminescent display. EL displays look great, but they're pretty power hungry to run on batteries. There was an article in Unix Today (20-Aug-90), stating that a San Diego based company, Research, Development and Innovations announced a battery powered SPARC called Brite Lite weighing in at 11 pounds and approx $10K for a high end configuration. I played around with one here in Japan a couple months ago. It can't use
batteries and I wouldn't really want to have it on my lap for more than a
few minutes (that thing was heavy!). The display was very good, with high
contrast from the front and sides. It lost contrast when viewing from
below, but this shouldn't be a problem for most people.

At Sun Expo the people with the Toshiba laptop said that it was going
to be a Japan only sort of release. At least for the current time.
Don't know which camp this decision originated from (marketing v.
engineering).
It was mighty impressive!
