One of the researchers of my faculty will stay in Antarctica next December. I have to supply him with a laptop computer (MS/DOS). Has anybody any experiences with this? I heard temperatures will be about 0 degr. Celsius, and humidity more than 90 percent! Do LCD displays still function at low temperatures? I suppose working with floppy disks is out of the question with such a high humidity. If you have any information about which brand to use, please let me know. BTW: the laptop will be used for wordprocessing I think.
