Just got my Zeos 286 Notebook, and it works great. Haven't seen it mentioned on the net, so here's its config: 286-12 (switchable) 1.44 floppy Internal 20MB Hard disk VGA with 32 Grey Scales Serial, Parallel, and External Monitor hookup Slot for Modem Built-in Handle 7 lbs, 10"x12"x2" $1995, plus $20 for shipping. I've been getting about 2 1/2 hours per charge (they claim an average of 2 hours), and it really only takes 1 hour to recharge it again (with the unit off). It trickle charges with the unit on. I compared it to the Compuadd/Sharp/TI 4 lb unit, but they cost about $2700 and don't include a floppy drive. Add the floppy and it costs even more and adds to the weight. The Zeos has a real door on the connectors versus the flimsy plastic 'hood' that the Compuadd/Sharp/TI uses. Also, the Compuadd/Sharp/Ti unit makes you choose between a modem or an External Monitor port. The Zeos comes with the monitor port standard. By the time I configure the C/S/T unit to be as close to the Zeos as possible, the C/S/T is about $1500 more to save maybe 1 lb of carrying (after I add the external floppy). Compared to some other laptops,I disqualified them if they did not have a VGA display or a 1.44 internal floppy. I ordered the laptop after seeing the ad in the Laptop issue of PC Magazine. The laptop is not in their charts, since it was just announced. I ordered the laptop on Sunday (they have a 7x24 number),and they got it to me EARLIER than they had promised (less than a week). My unit was from their first week of production, and I haven't found a single glitch. The documentation is professionally done.
