Testing a Compaq SLT/286 I am observing a problem. 3,5 floppies written on the Compaq I cannot always read on other machines. There is a second laptop from Compaq used in one of our sites that shows the same problem. Anybody out there observing the same problem ? Thanx .................................................... The COMPAQ SLT/286 does not check if the disk is double or high density. So, you can actually format a Double density disk to 1.4Mb without any problem which is great. The problem is most 3.5 drives do check for the density format and read accordingly. If you feed a 1.4 Mb double density disk, you'll get the problem. What you want to do is to use the high density disk or format the double density disk to 720K. Regards, -Andi
