About a month or so ago my "check EGR" light lit up on my '77 Dodge Colt (now there's a real muscle car). This light supposedly goes off every 15k miles as a reminder to go to the dealer, pay $22, and make sure your engine's running just hunky-dory. I,ve just bought this car this year with no knowledge if the previous owner did so every 15k miles. the car is just about reaching 51,000 on it, the engine is very clean, doesn't blow cumulus clouds of blue clouds or for that matter uses very little oil at all. My questions are: 1) Did previous or do current owners of Dodge cars that have this handy-dandy light find it necessary to bring it in to be looked at every 15,000 miles and if so was it worth it (if they found something wrong with your engine which would have made it short- lived). 2) Where is the switch located that will turn this light off? It can be a nuisance at night. Thanks D.A. Scherer 979-0445
