[comp.sys.laptops] Advice on a used Toshiba T1000

mburke@eecs.wsu.edu (Matthew Burke - grad student) (11/28/90)

I have the opportunity to buy a used Toshiba T1000 and would like people
to e-mail me their opinions on the deal.

All I am looking for is something that will do word processing for my
wife and will allow me to log on to my school's mainframe from home.

The system is a T1000 with 1.2 Meg of Ram, a 720k floppy, Panasonic
1091 printer, Microsoft Word (which I like and my wife is familiar
with), DOS 2.1.1 and some utility programs for $1200 or best offer.

Pros and cons anyone?

Thanks in advance,

Matt Burke

Why spend $1200 on a used system when a new system would cost you about the
same:

T1000 with 768K card	     = $850
1091 Printer (or equiv)	     = $200
Word		    	     = $200

total		   	     = $1250

I think $1200 for this used system is a rip-off. I wouldn't pay any more than
$800 for this. If you have $1200 to spend, you can easily find what you need
new.

No problem. I hate seeing people getting ripped off.
