Greetings all
I'm looking for retail shops, computer stores or whatever where I can
lift, examine, play with laptops. My wife is very concerned with the
quality of the display and etc. so specs are not enough!!! We live in
the SF area north of Santa Rosa and will plan on driving into the city
and spending the day trying to decide.
We are replacing an old but very functional HP 110 portable. The
technology and her ability have marched along with time. Our
requirements are:
1) Weight
2) Display quality
3) Keyboard
4) Moderate performance and cost ~$2k
These seem reasonable requests and the market is just beginning to
blossom with the new crop of laptops. We are considering at this
time:
1) Zeos (Haven't seen)
2) Airis (Heard about in this group)
3) NEC notebook
4) Toshiba 1000SE (Haven't seen)
5) Tandy 1500 (#1 Until the last burst in the group)
Any other suggestions? Please? We're looking to make the purchase
before the year end for tax purposes!! E-mail and postings to the
group are both welcome.

You need to clarify. Are you wanting to BUY one, or do you just need access
to someone who is paying for the retail real-estate and floor inventory so
you can decide which one you are going to order by mail?
