[net.auto] Wanted: Convertible top info

ziegler@lzmi.UUCP (09/21/83)

I have a '79 Spitfire with a soft top whose plastic windows are darn
near impossible to see through. They were like that when I bought
the car. The remainder of the soft top is in pretty good shape.
Does anybody know of someplace in Central New Jersey (preferably
Monmouth or Ocean county) where I can get just the windows replaced?
Is this worth the trouble, or should I replace the whole top? Any
ideas on how much this will cost me? Thanks.

The windows in an Engish roadster top can be replaced by an auto apholstery
/ auto top place. It should cost about $50-90. A new top can be ordered from
MG Mitten (800) 423-4517 for about $100 to $150. To install the top yourself,
you will need simple handtools and most likely a poop riveting tool ($15).
A foreign car garage can do the whole job for about $200, including buying
a top.
