[comp.sys.laptops] TANDY WP-2 QUESTIONS

Some questions on the WP-2 :

  1) What are the specifications on the internal 32K RAM chip?
$50 at Radio Shack is way too much, but the manual doesn't
specify a speed or a part number so I could get a cheaper
     source.

  2) I glanced at the manual at a store - does the internal
RAM chip socket hold a larger chip than 32K? I thought
the installation picture showed a larger socket.

  3) What phone number is available to order service manuals?

I'm not sure of the specs, but you definitely can get a cheaper chip.

In particular, you can use a 128k SRAM. There is one place that I know
of that sells the proper chip for $70 or so, but I think you can even do
better than that. That place is Purple Computing at 800-732-5012.

Tandy Tech support is on 817-878-6880.
