I am looking for information about the peculiarities and availability of 10Meg and 20Meg JVC hard drives for the NEC Multispeed and some of the earlier Grid machines (I only lump them together because I think they may use the same drives). Are there other machines which can use these drives, or other drives which can be used in these machines? I think these machines use a proprietary ST-506-like interface, and I am wondering if these drives are available from any third-party vendors, and at what prices. Also, if anyone has any comments about their reliability, I'd like to hear them (I've been told that the 20Meg drives on the Multispeed were not very reliable, but I have no evidence of this).
